The Causative mood in the Chinese language, indicated with the words “shi (使),jiao (叫), rang (让)” and bearing a heavily logic sense, is often found to be equivalent to adjectives, which has a strong subjective color, in the translated versions of the Japanese language. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the relationship between the two and study on what occasions imperative sentences with “shi (使),jiao (叫). rang (让)” in Chinese can be translated into adjectives in Japanese. Based on a number of examples from “A Corpus of Translated Versions Between Chinese and Japanese”, the paper offers an analysis of the sentence patterns and features of the Chinese original sentences with “shi (使), jiao (叫), rang (让)” and the translated Japanese versions with adjectives.
