广告是对于任何以公众为对象,以推销某产品或服务为目的的文案的总称。广告语言具有形象生动、朗朗上口的特点,而要达到这样的效果通常需要使用各种各样的修辞手法,这正是本文的主要内容。
This paper attempts to explore rhetorical devices used in English advertisements. Advertising is a collective term for public announcements designed to promote the sale of specific commodities or services. It embodies the feature of being vivid, impressive and memorable, which is achieved by employing various rhetorical means.
