关注现代主义文学汉译:提升翻译教材质量的另一条路径

随着国际间的交流日趋频繁,对英汉翻译人才的期望越来越高。然而,因为翻译理论和实践相脱节,尤其是满足于基本翻译技巧和翻译经验的传授,回避了一些复杂的英语汉译问题,导致我国大学英汉翻译教材远远不能满足社会的这种发展。事实上,现代翻译学理论和语言学理论进展已经为我们深入理解复杂的英语现象提供了理论根据。毫无疑问,现代主义文学作品则是最为复杂的英语文本,而五四新文化运动以来的知识界不少人士对现代主义作家作品做了很多译介。这类译介成果给我们理解复杂的英语现象,提供了很好的经验和参照系。如果充分考虑这些,无疑会大大提升翻译教材质量的。

Cross-cultural communication ever increases and imposes higher demands on English- Chinese translation. However, our translation teaching materials lack organic unity of translating theory and practice and therefore ignore the complexes of translation to some extent. In fact, we, inspired by modem translatology theory and hnguistic theory, can understand the complexes of English text such as modernist works. It is very interesting that modem intelligentsia in China translated the American - English modernist works. There are significances if we pay adequate attention to translated works of modernism in the teaching materials.
