Mansfield has made great contribution to the art of short stories, and is thus generally acknowledged as one of the most excellent writers of short story in English literary history. Besides, with keen observation and exquisite expression, her works are full of poetic sentiments. This paper attempts to explore the modern narrative art in her writing through the analysis of her classical story Bliss , viewing it in terms of narrative point of view, symbolism and impressionism.
