Hulan River , the autobiographic work, is one of Xiao Hong＇s most noticeable worlds. The attention it draws from the readers contains misunderstanding as well as appreciation. This paper attempts to explore this work from the following aspects, which are： the unique, exquisite landscape and customs of Hulan county, reminiscence of Xiao Hong＇s childhood, the profound, compassionate feminine consciousness, and the concern towards the common people in lowest social layer, and meanwhile, try to explore the complicated state of mind of the author during the process of her creation.
