Contribution of Professor Wang Xuetai in Development of Acu-Moxibustion Science

王雪苔教授是我国著名的针灸专家,在其半个多世纪从事针灸工作中,对我国乃至世界针灸事业的发展作出了卓越的贡献。主要有:参与创建中国针灸学会、世界针灸学会联合会、北京针灸骨伤学院,创办《中国针灸》杂志;指导经穴定位标准和经穴主治标准的研制,推进经络的研究。在针灸史与中医文献研究方面成就斐然。近20年来,王雪苔关于针灸发展战略的思想和观点影响着我国针灸医学发展的方向。

Wang Xuetat is a famous specialist ot acupuncture-moxlbustion science. Ever since 1948, he devoted himself to the studies of acupuncture literature, history, theory, clinical treatment and experimental work. He presided the International Standardization of Nomenclature of Acupoints, guided the International Standardization of Locations of Acupoints, and was invited to be the advisor of Studies on Meridians, one of the programs of State Climb Plans. Especially in the recent 20 years, he concentrated his efforts on the studies of development strategies and the advance of internationalization of acupuncture. His academic thinking produces a great impact in both China and abroad.
