杨武之与西南联大

Professor Yang Wuzhi and Southwest Associated University

杨武之是西南联大的教授,是诺贝尔奖获得者杨振宁的父亲。在抗日战争中,他在西南联大数学系任教,抗战胜利后,三校原原,他因病不能北返,仍留在昆明师院数学系任教二年。他对中国的教育及数学人才的培养是作出贡献的,在培养子女成才方面也对后世有所启迪。

Mr. Yang Wuzhi was a professor at Southwest Associated University and father of Mr. Yang Zhenning, a Nobel Prize winner. During the Anti -Japanese War, Professor Yang Wuzhi taught at the Department of Mathematics of Southwest Associated University. After the war, the three universities moved back to their original cities. Because of poor health, Professor Yang stayed and taught for two years at the Department of Mathematics of Kunming Teachers College. Professor Yang made contribution to the training of mathematicians and Chinese education and his training of children also sheds light on the coming generations.
