Semantic Difference of the color words between English and Chinese in Cross-cultural Communication

在跨文化交际中,由于英汉语两种文化和历史背景的差异,在颜色词的使用和理解上也就存在着差异;就英汉语色彩文化差异进行了对比,并总结分析了他们的内涵和特定的象征意义,这对跨文化交际的顺利进行具有一定帮助。

During the inter - cultural communication, there are many differences in the use of color words as well as in the understanding of the same color due to the different cultural and historic background. This paper discussed ＇the differences of color words between English and Chinese by means of contrast and summarized their connotation and specific symbolism respectively, which can,to some extent, promote the inter- cultural communication.
