With the development of the society, the compound talents who not only specialize in one field but also grasp English are in urgent need. To meet the demand, nation-wide English reforms are proceeding. Therefore, college teachers of English should keep abreast of the times. They should pay more attention to the college English reform, along with the basic English education reform and the development of bilingual teaching which is a new trend at present. According to the current situation, college teachers of English should outdate their ideas firstly and then enlarge and deepen their knowledge to keep up with the social development.
