This paper will discuss six elements in Zhang ChengZhi＇s novels--idealism, life worship, sacrifice spirit, lonely journey, suffering consciousness and mythically symbolic metaphor, and the reasons of six elements matching up to the spiritual connotation contained in subject myth of the “Search” caused by： firstly, the myth spirit pierced through a humanities of race history, Zhang Chengzhi tries to track down the root of the national culture through excavating national subconscious; secondly, his novel tries to use the myth forms to communicate with history; thirdly, the functions of mythologically symbolic metaphor meet a request for Zhang Chengzhi＇s novels writing, that is to say, it can express deep meaning of a great but again confusing and misty history, setting.
