岑春煊,清末民初政坛上叱咤风云的人物之一。与手握重兵的袁世凯有“南岑北袁“之称。因“屠官”,与张之洞“屠财”,袁世凯“屠民”并称为晚清政坛的三大杀手；岑春煊一生复杂多变,又以“多变”著称。对此,世人褒贬不一。以往文章在其肃贪、反袁上多有论及。现从岑春煊多变的原因来解释其行为的合理性,以期对他作出较为客观的评价。
