The Effect of Population Mobility on the Regional Disparity of Economic Growth

改革开放以来经济增长的地区差距逐渐扩大,人口流动对经济增长差距的收敛作用明显,本文通过建立人口流动与经济增长之间计量模型分析指出,人口流动的地区差距与经济增长的地区差距高度相关,无素质差异的流动人口对整体经济增长没有显著的贡献,但流动人口确实对各地区的经济增长具有显著的贡献作用,且这种作用呈递减趋势。本文还发现,中国经济增长在改革开放的前十年具有明显的条件收敛机制,但在1990年以后,条件收敛不复存在,这一结论对三大地带内部的收敛机制同样适用。

The regional disparity of economic growth in China is increasing since the reform, and the convergence effects of population mobility on the regional disparity are obvious, The article uses a econometric model about population mobility and economic growth to show the disparity of population mobility has significant influence on that of economic growth, and the factor of undifferentiated movers have no notable effect on that growth in the model, but, it is known that movers have made significant contribution to the local economic development although this contribution tends are decreasing. The paper also finds that Chinese economic growth is conditional convergence in the fist ten years of reformation, but this tendency disappears after 1990, and the conclusion is suitable for the convergence mechanism of the interior of east, west or midst areas.
