Popularizing the Common Spoken Chinese and Protecting Dialect

普通话是现代汉民族的共同语,方言是从属于民族共同语的语言低级形式,是现代汉民族共同语(即普通话)的地域分支。普通话与方言同属一脉,是相依共存、互补分用的关系,把推广普通话与保护方言对立起来是不科学的,也是不符合实际的。

The Common Spoken Chinese is the mutual language for modem Han nation, but dialects are the lower form and branches of the mutual language. The Common Spoken Chinese and dialects are from the same souce, and they depend on and replenish together with each other for existing. As a result, it is not scientific or in keeping with the actual situation that setting popularizing the Common Spoken Chinese against protecting dialects.
