摘要社会对复合型人才和应用型人才的需求促进了英语教学的改革,英语教学需与社会的要求息息相关。应用CBI教学理念,强调教学的内容,旨在把语言学习与学科学习相结合,通过对学科的学习来获取语言能力; 重视学生的兴趣与需求,促进教师的自身水平的提高。使得高职高专院校培养出复合型及应用型的人才,增强高职高专学生的择业竞争力和社会适应性。CBI的教学理念是符合高校英语教学这一大环境,值得推广。 Objective of this paper is that in recent years, talent people with more than one skill are great needed by today society. Combining CBI with English teaching seems a better way. The method to analyze this idea through introducing CBI, pointing out that CBI （content based instruction） can develop linguistic ability. It has strong connection with subject study. It meets the need of today＇s society, pays attention to students＂ interest, improves teachers＂ teaching ability, prepares students from higher training college to fit in with the needs of the society. The result is that CBI meets the need of society and talent people can be trained by using this way. The conclusion of this paper is that it is accessible for college English to adopt CBI approach.
