The Transition From West-centered Approach to China-centered Approach: Transformation of J.K.Fairbank's Research Model in Cambridge History of Qing

费正清主编的《剑桥中国晚清史》虽然总体上是在费正清以文明冲突为核心的“冲击—反应”的研究模式指导下编著而成的,但是作为一部出版于1978年的著作,该书的研究模式表现出了明显的从“西方中心观”向“中国中心观”的过渡。

This article analyzes the research paradigms in Cambridge History of Qing edited by John. King Fairbank. The author points out that the book is based upon the Impact-Response model in which the core is Conflict of Civilization. But, as a book written in 1978, it shows a kind of transition from West-centered Approach to China-centered Approach. Moreover, the author also analyzes John King Fairbank＇s research path from Extemal Approach to Intemal Approach.
