From Emperor Xianfeng and Emperor Tongzhi to the initial stages of Emperor Guangxu, the three ci poets Shen Shiliang, Wang quan and Ye Yanlan in Guangdong were viewed as the most excellent. Though their works were influenced by Zhen Xi ci school, the styles were different. Shen Shiliang and Wang quan belonged to Zhen Xi Ci School. Shen's ci was dismal and significant, and Wang's ci was pellucid, Wang also had some beautiful works. Ye's style was colorful, and he belonged to Chang Zhou Ci School. They were in the transition period from Zhen Xi Ci School to Chang Zhou Ci School of the style of Lingnan ci, their evolution route of Lingnan ci at that time was discussed through their works.
