The characteristics on the development course of postgraduate education in USA. are as follows： coexistence of idealism and realism ; equal attention on course and research ; co-operation between universities and enterprises. These can be used for reference by TVET teachers＇ universities on the cultivation of VTE postgraduates as follows： attention to the applicability of cultivation objective; attention to the fundaments and integration of courses; cross allocation of tutors; cooperative cultivation by schools and the society; insistence on the cuhiveation feature of “dual-mode teacher” system.
