The application and prospect of dichlorophenylphosphine dichloride were briefly introduced, and the synthetic method of dichlorophenylphosphine dichloride was also described. The processes of preparing DCPP through AlCl3 catalytic synthesis,ionic liquid catalytic synthesis,free radical addition reaction synthesis, were discussed mainly in aspect of the mechanism of catalytic reaction, the existing problems and the progress of the study on the reaction were also discussed. Finding a new simple synthetic process which is environment benign and is of high yield as well as easy operation is still a hot issue in this field.
