山东寿光市大荒北央西周遗址的发掘

Test Excavation on the Western Zhou Saltern Site at Dahuang beiyang in Shouguang City,Shandong.

大荒北央遗址位于山东省寿光市卧铺乡郭井子村西南2公里处，南距寿光市34公里，东北距莱州湾16公里，新塌河从遗址东侧流过（图一）。该遗址发现于1980年开始的全省文物普查，原调查报告称“郭井子荒北央遗址”。遗址现为一高岗（鲁北沿海多称高岗为“央子”），海拔3．8米，地面散布陶片面积约4万平方米，初步钻探表明文化层分布的面积不足1万平方米。

In March to May 2001, the Archaeology Department of Shandong University and the Shouguang Municipal Museum carried out a test excavation on the Dahuangbeiyang site. They revealed a sea-salt producing site of the earlier Western Zhou period, which yielded clay pits, hardened plant ashes and deposits, and pottery vessels, mainly helmet-shaped objects. These findings furnish important material to studying early sea-salt production.
