英语教学中文化教育浅探

On the Cultural Education in English Teaching

语言是文化的载体,是文化的主要表现形式。学习一种外语不仅要掌握语音、语法、词汇和习语,还要了解说这种语言的人如何看待事物,如何看待世界;要知道他们是如何用他们的语言来反映社会思想、习惯、行为;要了解他们的“心灵之语言”,即了解他们的社会文化。英语教学是语言教学,当然离不开文化教育。

Language is both the carrier and main manifestation of culture. It is natural that when learning a foreign language, phonetics, vocabulary, grammar and idioms should be focused on. But, the most important is that language learners should know how the language speakers view on things and the world; how they reflect social thoughts, custom, and behaviors by using their language and what their “language of soul” social culture is. So English teaching can not be considered as language teaching without cultural education.
