Yuzhou Feng was one of the most important and influential journals that was born in 1930s in Shanghai. Lin Yu-tang, a famous scholar in the history of contemporary Chinese literature, was in charge of the journal. He tried to achieve the goal of making the articles in his journal humorous, entertaining and expressive. He saw his efforts rewarded as this was what the readers in that period were looking forward to.
