瓯越与百越及其他

Ou Yue, Bai Yue and Others

古代东南地区居民,文献上通称“百越”,有“南越”、“瓯越”、“闽越”等。可见“瓯越”在中国民族史上首先是一个族称,以后随之发展成为地域的名称。并对“东越”与“东瓯”略加考辨。

Ancient inhabitants of south-eastern China were generally called “Bai Yue” in historical literature, which include “SouthemYue”, “Ou Yue”, “Min Yue”, etc. it is self-evident that “Ou Yue” was a name of a tribe, and evolved into a regional name at last. Besides, the author takes an examination over “Eastern Yue” and “Eastern Ou” in this article.
