A Brief Discussion on Wang Ji's Poetry

王绩是隋末唐初的诗坛中“独秀”于时的诗人,其诗确也有独步当时的风采。他在琴酒相伴中,隐逸于田园野境,不时用诗歌记述自己的生活,抒发自己的心声。

Wang Ji was an outstanding figure in the circle of poets from the end of the Sui Dynasty to the beginning of the Tang Dynasty. His poetry had its peculiar feature. Like a hermit he lived in the countryside, drinking liquor, playing musical instrument, writing poems to record his life and express his feelings and ideas.
