On Meaning-driven Translation: an integrated approach based on cognitive linguistics

本文从认知语言学的角度出发,把翻译看成是两种语言间意义驱动的交际模式的转换。交际模式的识别、理解、转换和表述涉及到意象图式、原型理论、心理空间和概念整合等语言认知理论以及多种翻译理论,它们构成了基于认知理论的综合翻译法——意义驱动翻译。

In spite of the emerged theories of translation, there is no common view people have agreed upon. In order to change such a situation, we must make changes in the way of treating translation. The paper considers translation as a transformation of meaning-driven communication patterns between two languages. The recognition, comprehension, transformation and representation of communication patterns involve various aspects of cognitive linguistics such as image schema, prototype, mental space and blending theories, and other translation theories etc.
