A Study on the Right Time of Liaoshen Decisive Battle

一些论著论证辽沈决战的时机成熟于1948年8月。本文的新见解是:辽沈决战的时机成熟于1948年5月。该时从兵力对比、敌我态势、后勤保障、交通及外部配合等方面,均已具备了发起战略决战的客观条件。未能于该时发起战略决战,主要是由于“东总”未能及时下定决战的决心。

Some essays and papers confirm that the right time of Liaoshen Decisive Battle was in August 1948. But this thesis points out that the right time should be in the May, 1948, when the People＇s Liberation Army got ready in every aspect to launch the decisive attack. The reason that the decisive attack was not launched on time was that the general headquarters didn＇t make decision to on time.
