Folk Belief and Popular Religion in Modern Lasa Area

中国藏族地区的民间信仰繁多,由来复杂,对当地民众的生活产生了独特的影响,是中国民间文化、社会习俗的有机组成部分。近代西藏拉萨地区虽然号称“法区”,但仍然拥有多种藏传佛教之外的民间信仰,在众多的中国藏区信仰习俗中占有不可忽视的地位,与其他藏区并无重大差别。

There are various ways and gates to god, ghosts and immortals in the folk believes in China＇s Tibetan Area . which have both national traits and historical traditions, have unique influences on the populace life, and become organic components in the folk culture and social custom in China. Although Lasa Area is thought as “religion area” , in fact the belief and the custom of Lasa people is not different from that of the other people in China＇ s Tibetan Area, and occupies an incontrovertible position in so many believes and customs of China＇ s Tibetan Area.
