摘要
美国华裔女性作家伍慧明是美国文坛上近几年出现的后起之秀,她的处女作《骨》深刻描述了美国华裔生活的新经历,受到广泛关注和好评。在小说中她将“骨”这一简单意象作为贯穿全文的一条主线,以简洁的文字深入探讨了华裔美国人的多元文化属性问题,以多重对话的方式使个人、家庭历史得以再现,向以白人为主导的强势文化及父权中心发起挑战,同时对中西方文化的融合与冲撞予以反思,从而表现出美国华裔移民在双重文化环境中寻找文化认同、确定文化属性的艰辛及不懈努力。
Fae Myenne Ng is a newborn female author in the literary circles of America. Her first novel Bone mirrors a deepgoing exploration on the life experience of Chinese American immigrants, which deserves wide affirmation and honor. Ng adopts the hone-image as the major clue throughout the whole story, examining the multicultural !dentity of American Chinese from perspectives of history representation, gender and culture. Her novel breaks up the trammels of White-centered culture and patriarchy, and meanwhile inquires into the issue of conflict and coalescence of East and West culture, which reflects American Chinese immigrants' hardship and persevering endeavor of ,searching for their cultural identity in the context of bicuhure.
