浅论钱伟长学术思想中的人文精神

A Brief Analysis of the Humanistic Spirit in Qian Wei-chang's Academic Thinking

通过简要回顾钱伟长先生的治学生涯和学术成就,力图具体地探索他的学术思想中的人文精神。着重阐明:他一贯主张自然科学与社会科学的密切结合,在自然科学研究中不断借鉴、融合人文科学的先进思路,坚持爱国敬业、勤奋进取、锐意创新、求真务实、广闻博览、融会贯通,在提携后进过程中,力主通才教育和学术民主。分析表明,钱伟长学术思想中的这种人文精神源自我国先哲深邃的学术思想和德国哥廷根学派优良的学术传统。

This essay, based on Mr. Qian Wei-chang＇s scholarly research career and academic achievements, gives a probe into his humanistic spirit in academic thinking, which can be summed as his consistent emphasis to the combination of natural science and social science, advocacy of drawing on the useful experience of social science researches such as being patriotic, dedicated, progressive, creative, realistic, extensive, thorough, etc. and proposal of overall education and academic freedom so as to give help and guidance to juniors. And the author point out that the humanistic spirit derives from the deep academic thinking of Chinese great thinkers of the past, and from the good tradition of many scholars in Gottingen University.
