A process of alkaline hard chromium plating on aluminum alloy was presented, including oil removal, dipping in heavy metal solution, acid pickling, dipping in zinc solution, hard chromium plating. The process flow and the formulation and operation condition were given. The key points of the operation and the stripping methods and effects of the defective chromium deposit were introduced.
