Approach of Color Image Edge Detection Based on Color Tracking

传统的边缘检测方法大都是基于灰度图像的,用于彩色图像边缘检测时效果往往不能令人满意.本文提出了一种新的彩色边缘检测算法,它充分考虑了彩色图像的边缘特性,使用彩色差进行跟踪,从而弥补了传统边缘检测方法检测时丢失边缘的不足.通过与其它成熟的边缘检测技术进行比较,结果显示:该算法能提取更多的彩色边缘信息,而且检测精度和效果都比较令人满意,具有一定的实用价值和良好的处理效果.

The traditional methods of detecting edges are mostly based on gray images,which did not satisfy in detecting color image edges. In this paper,a new algorithm for detecting color image edge is presented. The new algorithm is based on color tracking and it focused on the property of edge. By comparisons with other well-established technologies for edge detection, the result shows that the new algorithm has practical value and better effect and it observes more color edge information and its detecting precision and effectiveness are satisfying.
