本文介绍了我们正在进行设计研宄的专家系统开发工具MEST的结构和使用的关键技术:人工智能理论和数据库技术的结合.用户通过典型专家系统实例的学习,利用菜单回答侍开发专家系统的类似问题.MEsT系统自动完成一个专家系统所必须的知识表达、获取、推理、控制等主要机制和菜单显示形式、算法及结果输出形式等功能模块的选择.MEST系统可以成为各个领域的专家自己开发专家系统的方便友好的工具。

The structure of MEST (short for the ES Tool Based om Menu Interface) and the key technology which MEST used have been discussed in this paper. The technology is the combination of Artificial Intelligence theory and Database technology. While studying the menu and related typical ES examples in MEST, users can easily choose the answers of any questions which are very close to the questions in the expert system that users will develop. Then, the system MEST automatically choose the functional models necessary for any expert systems such as knowledge representation, knowledge acquisition, inference method, control strategy, menu displaying mode, algorithm, output mode and other main functions. MEST can be easily used by any experts in any universe of discouse and it will be a convenient and friendly tool for the experts themseves to develop expert systems.
