How many arithmetical treatises Al-Khwarizmi wrote is a Euestion that many mathematicians are concerned about. Through the research of all kinds of historical materials, the author thinks that it is probably that A1-Khwarizml writes two arithmetical treatises and briefly introduces some fragments of the content of “Book of Addition and Subtraction” preserved in Al-Khwarizmi＇s work and Abu Kamil＇s mathematical work, and makes a comparison and analysis on the Russian translated term between “Book of Addition and Subtraction”, “Book of Increase and Decrease”and “Book of Surplus and Deficiency”.
