摘要
光可变衰减器(VOA)作为波分复用(WDM)网络中关键的功率管理器件,能够实现信道均衡和自动增益控制功能。本文在分析了法拉第旋光现象和光偏振现象的基础上,进一步介绍了一种基于磁光技术实现的可变光衰减器,这种可变光衰减器具有功耗低、动态范围大、分辨精度高、响应速度快、无调节振荡、可靠性高等优点,是最具吸引力的可变光衰减技术之一。
Variable optical attenuator(VOA) is a key power controlling device which can realize channel equalization and automatic gain control(AGC). A variable optical attenuator (VOA) fabricated by Magneto-optical technology is presented further on the basis of analysis Faraday optical rotation and polarization. The VOA is characterized by low power consumption, wide dynamic range, high distinguishing precision, fast response speed, regulating shaking, high dependability, is one of the most attractive technology of VOA.
