摘要
本文根据采自湖北省的标本,对显著蚋Simulium(Simulium)prominentum Chenand Zhang,2002的成虫期形态作补充描述并对其分类地位进行讨论。
Chen and Zhang (2002) described a new species, Simulium (Simulium) prominentum from some syntypes pupae and larvae, collected from Leigong Mountain Nature Reserve, Guizhou Province, China. The both adult stages of this species has previously been unknown and is described from material collected in Xingdou Mountain, Hubei Province China. This species seems to fall into the tuberosum- group of subgenus Simulium by the shape of genitalia and the pupal gill filaments. The new species closely allied to S. ( S. ) sigiti from Java, S. ( S . ) nigrifacies from India, S. ( S . ) brevipar from Malaysia and S. ( S. ) puliense from Taiwan, however, the new species can be separated from all the related species mentioned above by several combination characters, such as the cibarium smooth in the female; the thorax unpateerned and the shape of style, ventral plate and median sclerite in the male.
