This article examines G.E.Moore's Prinicipia Ethica, focusing on the relationship of morals to the two features, iconoclast and experimental,of 'the new biography'.That 'personal affection and aesthetic enjoyment includes the biggest good' is the major notion of Moore's ethics;that is,G.E.Moore lays emphasis on the actual relationship between individuals rather than the idealistic relationship between man and god and stresses the role that art plays on morality.Adopted by 'the new biography',this notion turns to be a predominant guideline of that practice.Moore's ethics is thus deemed as the lethal weapon by 'the new biography' in its iconoclasm and an aesthetic index to life-writing in an artistic way.
