摘要
在汉英翻译中存在着过度冗余现象,具体体现在范畴词、修饰词、显性重复、隐性重复等诸多方面,其与汉英语言结构差异、词义的非对应性、文化和思维方式差异、翻译技巧等诸多因素有关。针对翻译中普遍存在的过度冗余问题,运用省译是消除该现象的一种有效方式。
The redundancy in Chinese-English Translation is analyzed from category words, pompous words, explicit repetition and implicit repetition. Language structures, non-equivalence of glossary in both English and Chinese, difference between Chinese mode of thinking and culture and that of the western countries are considered to be the causes for redundancy caused in translation. It is proposed that omission be the effective methods to eliminate redundancy.
