The significance and requirement of coal blending of anthracite and its influence on coke quantity are described. Coking test for coal blend of anthracite in a 40kg coke oven at Liansteel was introduced. The coking procedure and conditions were given and the results were analyzed. It shows that it is feasible to add 3%-5% of anthracite into the coal blend based on the present resources of bituminous coal. Good economic benefit could be obtained.
