摘要
本文基于英语习语的文化特定性,从文化视角探讨英语习语汉译的翻译原则与策略,指出习语的翻译应以文化作为翻译单位,旨在取得译语和原语在文化功能上的等值。
Being culture-specific, English idioms have ever been one of the hard nuts to crack in translation. The paper, in the cultural perspective, probes into the principle and strategies for translating English idioms into Chinese. It points out that translation of idioms, based on the culture unit, should aim at the cultural equivalence between target language and source language.
