As a great American writer, Hemingway is noted for his writing style. The language in his works is simple and natural on the surface, but actually deliberate and artificial. The simplicity is highly suggestive, and often reflects the strong undercurrent of emotion. This essay relates Hemingway＇s unique use of language in his novels, especially in the short story Hills Like the White Elephants.
