简述了传统结构设计与结构优化设计的不同,用混凝土简支梁的例子来说明在设计中采用优化方法,所得结果相比采用传统设计方法结果能较大降低结构成本,从而阐明了优化方法在工程结构设计中应用的重要性。

This paper introduces the difference between traditional structure design and optimum design. It describes we can decrease structure cost by using optimum method in structure design with an example such as concrete beam with simply supported ends. Thereby it proves the importance of employing optimum method in engineering structure design.
