英国著名小说家勃朗特三姐妹中的小妹妹安妮.勃朗特在其代表作《怀尔德菲尔山庄的房客》中通过女主人公海伦.亨廷顿反映出女权主义特色。海伦不但是19世纪欧洲文学中比《安娜.卡列尼娜》中的安娜和《玩偶之家》中的娜拉早30年的反抗女性,而且是道德型、理智型、理想型的反抗女性。同安娜和娜拉的激进反抗相比,海伦的反抗为女性追求个性解放、争取自强自立提供了更为切实可行的经验。
In this essay, a discussion is made on The Tenant of WildfeU Hall, a novel by Anne Bronte, the youngest of the famous Bronte sisters in English literature, as well as on Helen Huntingdon, the female protagonist of the novel and the characteristic feminism reflected through Helen, who is not only a rebelling woman 30 years earlier than Anna Karenina and Nora in A Doll＇s Howe, but also a rare rebelling woman with morality, rationality and ideal pursuits. Compared with the radical rebellion of Anna and Nora, Helen＇ s rebellion offers more realistic and effective measures for women in their struggle for independence, freedom and dignity.
