On Tan Qian's Guoque and His Textual Research on Historical Fact

谈迁《国榷》在记述史事的过程中,继承了司马迁重视考信的优良传统,对其编书的主要依据《明实录》采取不迷信、不轻信的态度,对各种野史的记载,更是进行了去伪存真、去粗取精的考证、鉴定的工作,对暂时无法断定其是非的史料,采用了兼蓄并存的方法。尤其是他在客观记载史实的过程中,采用了插附按语、亦评亦辩的特殊方式,对所载史事既有考证,也有评论,颇具特色。

On the process of writingGuoque , Tan Qian deals with the historical facts with a matter - of - fact attitude which is learnt from Sima Qian. He has no blind faith inMingsbilu , which is his main source material. He distignishes the true and the essential from the false and the dross when coping with privately compiled history. He recordes the contradictory facts which he can not identify and engages in textual research on the historical facts with his own comments.
