This paper compares Liang Qichao＇ s theory of newspaper and novel, and finds out that there is similarity between them in either representation or statement of functions, use and spreading methods of newspaper, periodical and novel. The reason lies in that Liang Qichao as a statesman views any medium as tool of reforming politics, and starting from this viewpoint, what he can and what he wouht like to see is the publicizing function of newspaper, periodical and novel. In theoretical statement, newspaper, periodical and novel takes politics as band, and form successive relation.
