This article has summarised the syntactic formation of ＂Quote Structures＂ and the perplexing relationship between ＂Quote＂ and ＂Reporting Clause＂. It is pointed that it is the unusual narrative mixture of ＂lst person＋ 3rd person＂ stance that results in the relationship as such. It is further proposed that the peripheral ＂supra-sentential＂ structures rightly call for a new grammatical framework for analysis.
