在外语学习中，英语学习词典的查阅是一个信息输入及信息处理的过程。词典信息通过感觉存贮器、工作记忆及长期记忆等阶段被读者所认知。控制过程作为一种元认知因素在词典信息的处理过程中起着举足轻重的作用。另外，词典不同于其他阅读物的特点决定了读者在处理词典信息的几个原则，分别是并行处理原则、运用心理词汇的原则及归纳原则。

Consulting an English learners＇ dictionary is a process of information input and information processing. Dictionary information is acquired through the information processing stages： the sensory stores stage, working memory stage and permanent memory stage. At the same time, the control process, as a metacognitive element, is playing an important role in the three stages. In addition, the processing principles are as follows： parallel processing, making use of mental lexicon and inductive principles.
