The Chinese classic poems had impacted much upon the poetic composition of the imaginary school that dominated the field of poetry in both America and British in the early 20th century. However, some poets of imaginary school represented typically by Ezra Pound did accept the Chinese classic poems in a misreading way. Misreading of the structure of the Chinese characters, of the rules and forms of the Chinese classic poems in composition, and of their meanings, became the inspirational source for Pound and other poets of imaginary school in their poetic reform and creation, and might be taken as positive to the initiation and flourishing of the imaginary school of poetry at that time.
