南诏王室崇信佛教的始因分析

A Causal Analysis of Nanzhao Royal Court's Worship of Buddhism

本文从佛教传入南诏社会初期的状况分析入手,阐释了佛教在洱海地区的传播以及对社会的影响,力图说明南诏王室在中后期经历了宗教信仰转变的过程。佛教在南诏的广泛传播则是这一转变过程的结果,南诏王室崇信佛教的根本原因是维护阶级统治利益的根本需要所决定的。

Based on an analysis of the initial situation of Buddhism spreading to Nanzhao community, the paper elaborates so much on the spread of Buddhism in Er＇ hai region and its social impact, as to show the process of Nanzhao royal court＇s conversion into Buddhist belief in the middle and later stages of the State and that this conversion results from the need to safeguard the ruling class＇s interests.
