摘要
本文探讨在新加坡的社会语言土壤下学生学习华语文所面临的问题,以新加坡国立大学的168名选修工商华文的学生作业为例子,从他们的国籍、中四和初级学院的华文会考成绩以及他们与同学交谈的语言和家庭用语作对比,分析他们的口语表达以及书写中文所出现的问题。同时,比较新加坡教育部2004年“万人大调查”中中小学生和大学生华语文学习的问题,了解大环境与小环境下学生学习华文所面临的困难。
This paper is a sociolinguistic study of Chinese language learning in Singapore, using the data by 168 undergraduates from the National University of Singapore who are currently taking the Chinese language as one of their modules. There is no lack of studies on the relation between the Chinese language and society, between the use of the Chinese language and the educational system in Singapore ; however, this paper focuses on the problems related to the language used in family and code-switching through students' questionnaires, essays and reports so as to deep our understanding of the problems in Chinese language learning.
