Luminescent characteristics of borate and phosphor ate glasses doped with lanthanide ions(such as Ce￣(3+),Pr￣(3+),Sm￣(3+),Eu￣(3+),Tb￣(3+),Er￣(3+),Dy￣(3+),Tm￣(3+)which emission spectra are situated in the visible region are systematically investigated by means of fluorescence spectra and IR spectra.Excitation and emission spectra of rare earth ions in glass hosts are systematically analysed,and the influence of various glass hosts on fluorescent properties of rare earth ions is discussed.
