演绎数据库优化技术新进展

在现实应用中有一类应用不仅要求数据库系统能够存取大量的数据,而且要求数据库系统能够对所存贮数据进行知识推理,我们称这类应用是基于知识的数据密集型应用。很多迹象表明,关系数据库由于缺乏足砂的语义表达能力,不适用于这类应用系统的开发,因此人们试图寻找一种新型数据库系统,它既能存贮数据,又能存贮知识推理规则。

Deductive database is an integration of logic programming with relational database technology. Poor performance is the very reason hindering the development of deductive database system. This paper focuses on the development of optimization technique of deductive database, and several new optimization approaches are discussed here.
